NOVEMBER 2018
After one too many cute parrot videos and tons of research on the different types of parrots, Matt & Tammy concluded cockatiels would be the best addition to their home. A few days later, they were introduced to a local breeder who was in the process of weaning the last clutch of the season. A female cinnamon pearl cockatiel became a member of the Huff’s home in November 2018. This beautiful girl was named “Todah”, which is one of the 7 Hebrew words of praise meaning “giving thanks for what is to come”. Matt & Tammy continued to provide updates, pictures and considered Todah’s breeders family.
January 2019
Todah began acting different and lethargic. Todah’s breeder was also concerned and advised taking Todah to see an avian specialist. A few days later, Todah quietly went to sleep in Tammy’s arms.
Matt & Tammy replayed everything in their minds wondering what could have happened. Was she sick? Was she unknowingly exposed to a toxin? The grieving process resulted with a mutual decision to never EVER own another pet.
MAY 2019
Matt & Tammy continued communications with the breeders. The breeder mentioned they needed to rehome their flock. Forgetting the declaration of never EVER owning another pet…you guessed it!
Enter Todah II
Todah and her mate Jelly are thriving and have themselves become parents a few times over. However, these two are not alone. Adam & Eve, Jacob & Rachel, Abraham & Sarah, Ruth & Boaz, Shalom & Glory (who are unmated females) are never EVERs *wink* as well.
